Black Cherry Ice Cream

Luscious Black Cherry Delight

Ingredients:

2 cups heavy cream
1 cup whole milk
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
2 cups black cherries, pitted and halved
1/4 cup cherry preserves
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Pinch of salt

Directions:

In a medium saucepan, combine the black cherries, cherry preserves, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt.

Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the cherries are soft and the mixture has thickened, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool completely.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and almond extract until the sugar is completely dissolved.

Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

In the last 5 minutes of churning, add the cooled cherry mixture to the ice cream maker, allowing it to swirl through the ice cream.

Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until firm.

Serve the black cherry ice cream in bowls or cones and enjoy!
