Salisbury Steak and Potato Skillet
Savory Salisbury Steak with Sautéed Potatoes
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup milk
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 egg
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tbsp olive oil
4 medium russet potatoes, thinly sliced
2 cups beef broth
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Directions:
In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, egg, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined. Shape the mixture into 4-5 patties.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the patties and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, until browned. Remove the patties from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the sliced potatoes.
Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes are golden and slightly tender.
In a small bowl, whisk together the beef broth and cornstarch until smooth.
Pour the mixture into the skillet with the potatoes.
Return the patties to the skillet, cover, and reduce heat to low. Simmer for 15-20 minutes, until the potatoes are fully cooked and the sauce has thickened.
Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired, and serve hot.
