Ingredients:
2 racks of baby back ribs
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons smoked paprika
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon mustard powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite brand or homemade)
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs to ensure tender meat.
In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, ground cumin, mustard powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
Rub the spice mixture evenly over both sides of the ribs, coating them well.
Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil, then cover them with another sheet of foil, sealing the edges tightly.
Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the ribs are tender and the meat easily pulls away from the bone.
Remove the ribs from the oven and carefully discard the top layer of foil.
Brush the ribs generously with barbecue sauce, then return them to the oven, uncovered, for an additional 20-30 minutes until the sauce is sticky and caramelized.
Slice the ribs between the bones and serve with extra barbecue sauce on the side.
