Ingredients:
1 pound spaghetti
1 pound ground beef
1 jar (24 ounces) marinara sauce
1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup ricotta cheese
2 tablespoons olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh basil leaves for garnish
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until the onion is translucent.
Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon. Cook until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
Stir in marinara sauce, dried oregano, dried basil, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked spaghetti, ricotta cheese, and half of the mozzarella cheese. Toss until the spaghetti is evenly coated.
Spread half of the spaghetti mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
Top with half of the meat sauce.
Repeat layers with the remaining spaghetti and meat sauce.
Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
